Making Playful Learning Visible Observing children's learning is the central preoccupation of millions of caregivers - parents, relatives and teachers - but often caretakers are not aware of the many ways in which a child's seemingly wilful or random activity often masks deep and active learning. If certain behaviour is not recognised as learning - or worse, is penalised rather than being encouraged - parents miss out on a fundamental chance to enrich their own lives and those of their children. Too often parents believe that the only learning that is of value is school learning - learning that can be tested - thus missing out on the enormous variety of learning moments in their child's life.
The MPLV project has developed a robust methodology to inform and guide parents and caregivers in observing their child's learning. This methodology aims to help parents identify - and learn to encourage - all the ways in which their child learns.
