ROBO.Circus
Robot Circus combines the performance talents of circus and mime skills with High-Tech programming of LEGO Mindstorm robots. It is led by a team at the WAC Centre for Performing Arts and Media in Belsize park, London, drawn from 'Unclassified Mime' Physical Theatre Company and 'Sens' Multimedia and innovation design. Based in WAC's Saturday programme, the project involves young people aged 9-14 who produce and act in a final circus production. The children will act as animal trainers -programming the robots to perform with the children in a variety of acts from trapeze to ferocious beasts. The project culminated in an event to mark the official launch of the NGf on March 20th, 2004. It continues to be a regular programme at the WAC Centre for Performing Arts and Media.

Key learning outcomes include learning how to programme Mindstorms robots and circus performance skills. The performance aspect will encourage humans and robots to act in concert with each other and will treat the robots as discrete actors who need to be trained to mimic circus acts.
